3If Only There Could Be Less Sodium  Jun 24, 2008
By 'MaryLou Cheatham "The Collard Patch"
Tone's Tone's Spices (Spice Advice) Spicy Spaghetti Seasoning (* Zesty Italian Pasta Blend 14 oz) is one of our favorites. We used it in developing the recipes in The Collard Patch. We like the coarse blend of onions, garlic, spices, red and green bell peppers, and crushed hot red peppers. This delicious, spicy mix makes great pasta sauce and helps season collard greens.

The first ingredient listed is salt. A two-teaspoon serving supplies almost one fourth the salt that a young healthy person needs in a day's time. As we mature, we need to cut back on our sodium to avoid that silent killer, hypertension. If we weren't concerned that it would run our blood pressure up, we would eat more of it.

If only there could be less sodium, we could enjoy it more often!

5Great stuff!  Jun 29, 2007
By A. Morales
I have used Tone's Spicy Spaghetti Seasoning for some time now and I have to say that it has added a lot of flavor and zest to my pasta dishes. The combination of spices that include chili flakes, bell pepers & onions give it the right amount of kick that makes your taste buds stand up and take notice. Can't imagine not using it! :)

5Spicy Spaghetti Seasoning  Aug 08, 2010
By Richard F. Flewelling
Not many stores stocks this exceptional seasoning. I use it not only in spaghetti, but goulash and stews. It really brings a great Italian flavor up and makes an average dish, exceptional.

1Awful  Apr 05, 2012
By Susan Small "sgs"
A third of the contents of the container were rock hard slivers that were inedible. It was overwhelmingly green pepper. Absolutely awful. Threw it out.

I use this seasoning in my homemade pasta sauce after I fry alot of fresh garlic & 1 Shallot in oil. I spinkle this seasoning over the entire top of my sauce a little at a time untill I can't see most of the red.I add a few bay leaves & later on sweeten the sauce with basil flakes to taste. For an awesome meat sauce,I let the sauce simmer for an hour, then add browned up meat.1 pack Italian hot sausage,& 2 packs of pork ribs. Simmer for another 2 hours. The meat just about falls off the bone. The sauce is awesome!
Want to try an awesome crab leg sauce?
Same recipe without meat. Buy cooked frozen colossal king crab legs. I use 2 or 3 legs cut at the joints. I rince them off & use butcher shears to cut the joints & make 1 cut across the length of each leg so the sauce gets into it & the crab juice gets in the sauce. Cook the sauce & taste it now & then for 3 hours.Add more basil for taste if needed. Add the crab legs & simmer for 10 mins. Remove from heat & let stand for 2 hours for flavor.
