A moist paste of chicken, spices, and salt that dissolves quickly in hot water. Use anywhere chicken broth or stock is needed. Serving Suggestions Use wherever chicken broth or consume is called for in a recipe. 1 teaspoon is equivalent to 1 bouillon cube, but is more flavorful. I have used this Chicken Base for years and it is the nearest to home-made broth there is.

I have made chicken corn soup for years and it is one of my families favorite dishes. I always get company when they find out that g-ma got out the big green soup pot and made their favorite. I have used many other brands for the flavoring over the years and Tone's is by far the best. Actually, i think it is the secret, because everyone says that when they try to make chicken corn soup, it does not come out as good as mine.

Both Tone's beef and chicken bases are excellent for soup stock and gravy. I've tried many liquid stocks and bouillon varieties, and Tone's is by far the best. A chicken breast, a couple tablespoons of Tone's, some veggies and noodles and voila! Great soup - quickly! My only complaint is that it has to be refrigerated after opening; my fridge is always stuffed, but there's room for Tone's.

This paste makes a tasty addition to many foods and has better flavor than a powder or boullion cube. It dissolves readily in water, making it ideal for soups, stock, etc. It is, however, much cheaper if you belong to Sam's club. I don't, so Amazon was the next best option.

Nutrition facts per 1 tsp serving:
calories 15, calories from fat 5,
total fat 0.5g, cholesterol less than 5 mg,
sodium 770mg,
total carbohydrate 2g,
protein less than 1 g

There are helpful tables and amounts on the label for stock or broth - one cup, one quart, one gallon, and five gallons and also for gravy - one pint, one quart, one gallon, and four gallons. It has ugly gray,silver plastic packaging.

This works well as a soup starter or gravy maker. I would not recommend it as something that you would mix with hot water and drink, though. I do not like it for that nearly as much as I like Better Than Bouillon chicken base.
